Welcome to the PCs for MAINE Project!
This program was created by the Information Technology Exchange (ITE), a 501(C)3 non-profit organization.
Since 2002, PCs for MAINE has provided affordable high quality personal computers and support for more than 3800 people who needed a computer but could not afford one. Public schools and non-profits can also benefit from this powerful resource.
How it works!
A large part of the computer equipment we provide is donated. The costs of acquiring these donations, labor and new parts needed to prepare systems for use are passed on as a participation fee. Our fundraising efforts and gifts from the community take care of all the other costs. This means that qualified applicants can get a complete personal computer system with Microsoft's Windows XP Professional for as little as $180 with support and a warranty!
Laptop computers are available too!
This program provides much more than inexpensive computers. Training resources and outstanding support make this program one of a kind!
How to get started!
Participation in the PCs for MAINE project is easy - we have only two prequisites:
1) Your need of a computer, support and training from the program must include computer literacy, edducational or career skills development goals...
2) Your total household income must meet our income requirements.
