Get Involved - Volunteer!

Our goal for 2006 was to provide personal computer access for another 600 Mainers! -After a great deal of work and commitment we succeeded in helping 526! As of 12/29/06 PCs for MAINE has provided personal computer access, training and support for more than 3800 Mainers!

ITE and the PC's for MAINE project are grassroots initiatives that serve primarily underprivileged individuals and families throughout Maine, as well as schools and other non-profit organizations who also serve this portion of our population.

These programs are Social Enterprises, and so must charge modest fees for service to continue operating. ITE has initiated other social programs that generate funds to reduce the cost of participation. PC MEDIX is our computer repair shop in Belfast. All proceeds from PC MEDIX and other ITE programs create scholarship funding to keep the cost of personal computer ownership to our clients as low as possible. ITE development funds come through grants and gifts. ITE does not operate from tax-payer monies or state/federal grants.

Organizations who donate equipment, financial gifts and strong volunteerism keep these programs working to make Maine a great place to live and WORK!
